Bovec Outdoor Film Festival which will take place from 28 to 30 December will project 27 films about nature and sport from nine different countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Switzerland, Great Britain, USA and Slovenia), 20 of them in the competition programme.
The jury has published a list of films that will be shown in Bovec.
On Monday December 28 there will be the opening of the exhibition of photographer Peter Fettich, and after exibition in Cultural House Bovec we can watch two films, which are not a part of the competitive programme.
On Tuesday December 29 from 5 pm further there will be four sets of competition films, all together fourteen films.
On Wednesday December 30 again at 5 pm there will be 2 sets of movies with three films, after that Matevž Lenarčič will have a lecture entitled “Around the only world” starting at the 20th hours.
Lecture will be followed with prize giving ceremony to best films and best snow sculptures (Six international teams will create snow sculptures from Monday further in different spots in Bovec).
Official schedule this evening will be completed with five films in category in non competition programme of advertising and demonstration films.

During the 3rd festival BOFF, we will present to you first edition of making snow sculptures in Bovec town. You will find Call for Entry and Entry form, in menu_Events, and than_“Snow Sculptures“.
The rules are very simple and very attractive for the spectators: pressed (or artificial) snow from the surroundings will be put together in 2,4m x 2,4m x 2,4m blocks which will be located in different areas where the Bovec Film Festival with other events will take place. 10 selected teams will play on them with the wealth of their ideas. The result of the work should be the mirror of the selected sculpture ideas sent by artists.
Apart from the tools the sculptors can use only snow and water – which will be soon ice regarding the freezing winter temperatures. During the night the sculpture will be illuminated by some lights, but artist can also make use of candles.
The works have to be finished within 2 days, then they are going to be inspected and voted by the guests in the tourist resorts, the local residents and the giury.
The Snow Sculpture Festival will take place in the village of Bovec from 28th to 30th of December 2009. Hopefully the low winter temperatures and nice weather will contribute to give the sculptures a long life, so they can be admired till the first mild days even in the evenings as they are going to be illuminated.
