Walks along the sea coast

Walks along the sea coast can be educational. From the mainland, we can observe sea organisms that can be especially well seen during the low tides. The part of the coast that is covered in water during high tides and is dry during low tides is called the intertidal zone. Towards the coast, it is followed by the spray zone: this is exposed to salt spray only during stormy weather and there we can find salt-loving plants. These two zones are the most unpleasant environments for living organisms and only the best adapted ones can survive there. Unfortunately, the sea coast is also a final dumping ground for the floating rubbish that the sea has washed up.
